Nitrates are the salt of nitric acid, the most common substance in nature. Nitrates have a place in the soil, water is a chemical component part of plants, products of metabolism in humans and animals. People are experiencing the impact of nitrates during its entire existence. However, in case of exceeding the degree of load these substances in the body they can adversely affect health.


It is known more than 20 factors that can lead to increased accumulation of nitrates in vegetable farming products. These include: lack of light, heat, and cold in the plant vegetation period, drought and permanent humidification, big and small number of elements such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium in the soil, soil biological activity, soil acidity, diseases of soil and other. But the main factor is the irrational use of nitrogen fertilizers, violation of farming processing of agricultural crops.

When suspected poisoning nitrates and nitrites received into the body, the victim carefully washed stomach, give a slurry of activated charcoal (2 tablespoons per glass of water), then saline laxative.
